A passion that started next door to a garage.
Francis's love for cars didn't come from a textbook. It came from growing up beside a busy auto shop, watching engines come apart and go back together. Formal schooling gave him the theory. A mentor who told him to strip an engine down to bare block and rebuild it gave him the confidence.
Twenty-five years on the floor of one of the Bay Area's largest limousine repair shops did the rest — brakes, electrical, suspension, transmissions, and the kind of high-performance work most shops send elsewhere.
